BENGALLA COMMUNITY CONSULTATIVE COMMITTEE

Bengalla Mining Company (BMC) operates Bengalla Mine. The Community Consultative Committee is an advisory committee that provides a forum for community representatives, stakeholder groups and Muswellbrook Shire Council to engage with BMC regarding the operation of Bengalla.

BMC currently have a position available for a local community representative to join the CCC. The CCC meets quarterly at Bengalla.

Candidates must be a resident or landowner within the Muswellbrook local government area and preferably involvement in a local community group and/or awareness of local community issues.

Operations

Bengalla is a single pit open cut mine, using a dragline, truck and excavator method. The mine’s employees work in shifts to keep the mine operational 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
