Statement by Cam Halfpenny for Bengalla Mining Company
Tuesday 6 November 2018

All at Bengalla Mining Company have been diligently responding with heavy hearts to the tragic event on Saturday night at the mine.

First and foremost Bengalla will continue to support Quinton’s family, our staff and suppliers as we come together at this difficult time.

Bengalla is working towards resuming production which has been suspended since Saturday night.

We plan to begin loading trains later today and have staff on site from this evening assessing operations.

The first shift back on-site will be Wednesday (tomorrow, 7 November).

Bengalla’s priorities are clear. Foremost is the wellbeing of those affected and our people. Second, full cooperation with the ongoing investigations. Third, to resume operations safely and slowly from today.
